Just a note first - your link to the book’s page has an unnecessary space in it. It should be http://www.packtpub.com/tkinter-gui-application-development-hotshot/book

Learning to write multi-threaded applications is probably what interests me the most about this. While making a note-taking program for an Extended Project Qualification, I’ve been occasionally working on a 2D terrain generator. The basic generation works, but I’m looking to add more complexity. The generation is pretty fast, but the ways I’m displaying it in tkinter make it pretty slow, so any good practices I can apply to the code would be helpful.

Thank you for the correction. :)

Looks pretty complete, however you should fix your like to the book. You have a space in there that doesn’t belong. :-)

Already got your e-book last year and it is on my kindle, but I’ve yet to read it. (Maybe I’ll get a paper copy that’s less out of sight ;-) )

I’m interested in writing network programs … Project #6 (the drawing application) looks interesting. I’ve shared on twitter (https://twitter.com/smallftprints/status/443179594523234304) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/sml.footprints/posts/612868175449532?stream_ref=10). Though the book is not for programmers new to python, I would like a copy of the book because I am new to programming with python and I want to start with Tkinter.

I am really interested in building an audio player.. Book looks like a fun read!

I am currently working on a database management project using Tkinter with Python 3 & Sqlite. I am new to Python but a fast learner, and am looking for samples of well-designed Tkinter applications to help me do my project the right way. It looks like the examples in this book would be perfect for me.

Last year I started with Python and already familiar with (most) of the fundamentals. So far only in command-line mode. Book looks really interesting and I’m in the camp of “If you have just started with GUI programming, this book is ideal for you”. :-)

Don Emery

I’m really interested in the framework for maximum code re-use.

Sometimes the CLI just won’t do. Sometimes I want to distribute my programs to friends; not all of than are capable of using the terminal. This book seems to be full of good ideas on how to write useable, maintainable, practical object oriented applications in python/tkinter. I am really interested in this book. https://twitter.com/esato1981/statuses/447695779931910145 https://www.facebook.com/eduardo.sato.509/posts/10203199720531228?stream_ref=10
